Well,as much as I really like my Buell Firebolt, its getting too rough on my tendinitis, so I sold it, and bought a Geezer Glide, a nice comfy bike, and the music is enjoyable. (now to find an unsuspecting pretty lady to ride on the back...any volunteers?)

whats in a name, (how to get a man to buy a car.)

Some cars were poor sellers because of design, some just because of the name they were given, now this is the right way to use names to cause an "effulgence" of sales.

One more time,,,

My bike has started smoking again, so back it went, something in the front head is leaking oil into the chamber, they re built the engine last time, and went through the heads, and for awhile no smoke. but again, there it is, The dealer is beside itself, and is going to press for a fresh set of head assy's which will cure the trouble. This will be the 3rd time its in for this problem, so the Wi. Lemon Law will apply if the fix doesnt work. I would rather not go that route, if possible, hoping the MoCo will just send the heads. More to come.

Another Candidate for the Presidency of the United States. He was inspired to run after hearing the stirring speech given by Sarah Palin.

Well folks the 105th is beginning, and the flood has begun. By Friday, the town will be jammed, and the fun starts. The police have said they will only cite for grievous offenses, like public sobriety(a bad habit, frowned upon here in Brewtown)
If the past is any indicator, there may be 50-70 thousand people in town for the weekend. I'll let you know how it goes,, If any of you will be in town, reply here, and I'll give you a tour of the town.

New Harley in for an engine rebuild.

My new bike, one of the vaunted revolution equipped V-Rods is getting a refit. It has puffed oil on start up, even after the breakin was complete. So the dealer says, "bring it in, no need to schedule an appt."
They found trouble, and have decided to replace everything on top, rods pistons rings, sleeves and all seals and whatever else they may find. (glad its under warranty) I'll find out the particulars once its been stripped and inspected. I do like the bike, nothing quite like it, lots of power, and handles very well for a 600# bike.

since we are discussing the "Certified" biker thing, I would like a show of hands, (not fingers,,,,) who has done their own top end work, valves, cams, all of that stuff.

God ,on women.

128 Views          07/28/06
A man was perplexed, and wondering about the mystery of women, and he, in frustration called upon God to enlighten him. He was a bit surprised when God answered, but asked the question fevering his mind.
God, can you tell me why you made women so soft, and warm? He answered saying "So you would like them my son" .
The man continued, Why did you make them so beautiful, and graceful, and comforting?
And again, God answered, "So you would like them my son"
This did not soothe the man, so he asked, Then why did you make them so dumb????
The answer, gently, and patiently from above, was, "So they would like you my son".
Though it may not be obvious to people, things are the way they are for a reason, so be happy, and like each other.

Driver education concerning road sharing with bikes

96 Views          07/08/06
I have seen so many public service spots on the tube about nearly every topic imaginable. Except, for motorcycles and auto drivers. I think this topic sorely needs attention.
This may be along the lines of indoctrinating cage drivers about seeing bikes, getting their brains wired for recognition of, and interaction with bikes. That bikes have the right to their entire lane, not just the part they are in at a given moment I don't like being passed in my own lane by someone who thinks I'm no different than a bicycle.
mostly, I think that a national program is needed to educate the cage driving public about bike awareness, to reduce the number of injuries, and fatalities due only to someone not seeing what is before their eyes. Also, perhaps it is time to press for legislation to add some toothy laws concerning penalties for drivers who injure or kill bikers. Crippled is crippled, dead is dead, its not just the body that suffers, its the quality of life of the victim, and their families. "I'm sorry, I just didnt see them" is an unacceptible flimsy excuse for poor judgement in driving. All of this needs consideration in ensuring a safer auto driving public. Any one have any thoughts or ideas about this ?? love to hear em', Longbeard
